'!âÿePIn 3067 the Star League approached Orguss Industries with technical aid and new technology to setup a new production line for the Urbanmech. In return the Star League would have the first production run, then an option to purchase every fith Urbanmech. The engineers at Orguss Industries were excited at the prospect of producing a new faster Urbanmech, but their hopes were soon dashed when the Star League reavealed that their main interest in the Urbanmech was it's engine which is not in use on any other Battlemech and is readily available with no other manufacturers competing for them.ÄIn order to provide the space and weight required to add the planned improvements a new composite structure is used and a compact gyro and cockpit replace the standard ones. To increase mobility improved jump jets are used which increases the jump capacity to 90m which is useful in an urban environment. A LB 10-X AC replaces the standard model of the original and an extra ton of ammo was added along with CASE. The small laser has been replaced by an ER meduim for better range and damage potential to better combat Battle Armor. The most impressive feature is the inclusion of a Null-signature system which greatly increases the Urbanmechs effectiveness at laying an ambush in an urban environment, and it's survivability against ranged units on an open battlefield. To cope with the additional heat double heat sinks are used eliminating any concerns over heat build-up. Finally Light Ferro-Fibrous armour has been used to increase the overall protection.
