The DCMS High Command set up a think tank just for this, and this vessel is the result of their brainstorming. They christened the vessel class "Sumo", as they thought of this ship as the equivalent of one of their husky wrestlers tackling an opponent.’While mounting relatively minimal armament, the Sumo-class assault ship does carry more than enough NL-42 Battle Taxis to ferry across a sizeable amount of Battle Armor. Its hide is also thick enough to generally withstand any punishment it can expect to take while closing with the enemy. In an effort to reduce the amount of damage it takes, they equipped the vessel with defensive screenlaunchers.
