The name comes from the Confederation's past, Si Ming is the Chinese "Lord of Fate" who decides the life span of each individual. The design comes from much more recent origins, the Star League's KGC-000 King Crab. Shengli Arms' design team was intreagued by the Word of Blake Militia's King Crab mech, and decided to try to duplicate, and update, the design using Cappellan manufacturers.Ñ The design team desided to use an XL engine in order to save weight to fix the major problem of the original, lack of ammunition for its primary weapons. They also added Hildco Model 13 Jump Jets to add needed mobility to the design. The original's Deathgiver Autocannons and five rounds of ammunition were replaced with Shengli Arms LB-20X and ten rounds each, doubling the load carried. The Simpson -15 LRM Launcher was replaced with a Zeus 15 rack, and again doubling the ammo load. A Hellstar PPC upgraded the old ExoStar Large Laser giving a heavier punch while closing to bring the heavy autocannon to bear. And since the Hellstar is an older design and unable to focus the particle stream under 90 meters, two Kajuka Type 2 "Bright Blossom" medium lasers were added. The heat sink system was redisgned to allow for double heat sink technology. While five fewer sinks are carried, the system dissipates 33% more heat, allowing for effective bracketed fire.
