The design specifications required a 'Mech designed for killing bunkers with a back up mission of being capable of being used in the general line of battle. The 'Mech should be capable of withstanding incoming fire from bunkers and the enemy 'Mechs. The final requirement was to bring the design in under 7.5 million cbills. After working on the design for several months, the Mountain Thunder was born. The Mountain Thunder is based on a generic 85-ton chassis and was given 2 Pontiac Auto-cannon class 20 guns as the primary armament. These guns were chosen for their destructive capabilities and their wide spread availability. To give the design some long-range fire capability, a long-range missile rack of 5 missiles was installed. To help keep the 'Mech running cool, 14 heat sinks were installed. To allow for a sustained rate of fire, 6 tons of auto cannon ammo was included along with a ton of long range missile ammo. To protect from incoming fire, the maximum amount of armor allowed on chassis was installed. To enhance the psychological impact of the "Mech, which was a part of warfare that they felt had been neglected, they decided to enhance the sound given off by the firing of the two main guns while at the same time doing everything they could to silence the firing of the long range missile launcher. By enhancing the sound of the two main guns, they hoped to accomplish two different things. The first was to scare the enemy and secondly to use the sound its self as a weapon against its target. It is hoped that the enhanced sound would deafen any infantry and to weaken the structure of its target, making the guns even more effective. }This design is still in field trials currently, and no word had been given as to if this design will ever reach production. A variant of the original design was developed during the initial design studies. This variant drips the long range missile rack and ammo in favor of a medium laser and two additional heat sinks. Both designs have been offered to the LCAF. If their designs are not accepted, the company is planning to made the Mech available for any mercenary company that would like to buy one. Martin Seatin, son of the owners of the Seatin-Crane AgroMech Company, is the current pilot of the prototype Mountain Thunder, which he has named Thunderer. Having literally grown up working with and on 'Mechs, he has developed a knack for finding the flaws in any design put out by the company wand was chosen as the perfect person to pilot the company's first into the BattleMech field. It is thought that he will become the next president of the company when his parents decide to step down. [ none ] (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown)
