The design specifications equired a 'Mech designed for killing bunkers with a back up mission of being capable of being used in the general line of battle. The 'Mech should be capable of withstanding incoming fire from bunkers and the enemy 'Mechs. The final requirement was to bring the design in under 7.5 million cbills. The company decided to hold an internal design contest to meet the design specifications. The winner of the contest was the Mountain Lightning. Company officials Offered to build the 'Mech if the workers would donate the time needed to build the prototype for submission to the field trials. In return, the employees would get a share of the profits from the sale of the "mech. The offer was accepted, and thus the Mountan Lightning was born.}Starting with a standard 90-ton chassis, the design team decided to pack 4 Magna Mark III Heavy Lasers to give the Mech superior offensive firepower. These lasers were also chosen because of their wide availability. Lasers were also chosen to avoid the need for ammunition and the possibility of ammo explosions on the field of battle, and to avoid the possibility of running out of ammo in the middle of battle. To cool the design, 33 heat sinks were installed to allow the 'Mech to walk and fire all of its armament without building up any heat. The maximum amount of armor was placed on the 'Mech to protect it from incoming fire. }This design is still in field trials currently, and no word had been given as to if this design will ever reach production. 2There are no variants of this design at this time.Ben Kelsey, the senior test pilot for the Seatin-Crane 'Mech Company, lead the team of employees that came up with the design for the Mountain Lightning. Because of these facts, he was chosen by the company to pilot the prototype 'Mech in the field trials. He asked that 2 black stripes surrounded by 3 white stripes be painted on the lower legs of the 'Mech, which he named "Forked-Tailed Devil". Gapping mouths with jagged teeth and dripping blood were painted around the nozzles of the large lasers [ none ] (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown)
