V2.00ÿÿ<pAMedium APC tracked Ñ Hú„=O@@@@€?GL 002 — — —— 5Ttran3K O (Unknown)È@@ Infantry Bay?“Midway between the standard APC, and the heavy APC, medium APCs are versatile vehicles which blend features of both the standard and heavy APCs. 2Carrying as much armour as the heavier heavy APCs , and nearly as fast as their lighter counterparts, the medium APC is a common vehicle in most inner sphere armed forced, used organically with armoured infantry foot platoons. The most common type of medium APC tends to mount a single MG and have enough space for a full foot platoon. Some differenciated varients excist such as the mautier and darter which, while they may be considered to be medium APCs are different from the "standard" generic medium APC, due to different weapons loads or weigh.  While there are many varients of the hover APC, mostly used for support of infantry troops, two varients stand out. Many mech companies used medium APCs as command vans in the 3020s, replacing the cargo bay with an LRM5 and mounting radio equipment. Though the gradual improvement of technology in the inner sphere. The Maultier Hover APC might be considered an example of a star league era Medium APC, with ferro-fiberous armour and SRMs for improved range. Apparently many Medium APCs were upgraded to this standard by the star league though other than the Maultier, very few examples survive The Darter scout car, while identical in every respect other than being 2 tonnes lighter, is an example of a nearly generic medium APC that evolved in a different direction.
