The original XM115 had an XL engine and the Scarborough Original 20 Autocannon was split more between the left arm and the torso then it is currently and it had less ammo. While it carried three ER Large Lasers and some mediums the lack fo enough heat sinks cover firing the main weapons repeatly lead to a major revision of the procject by the techs and engineers at Scarborough Manufacturers, though this group seemed to be more of the mentality of the dam building, metal bashing rule of thumb engineers at best. They set out to rework the XM115 in to a first rate war machine. They all agreed that tossing the XL engine was the best thing they could do. Yes, the meant a full reworking of the mech and a complete restart from the ground up, but the over all savings in money and material was something even they could see clearly. The only things to carry over from the XM115 to it's replacement, were the requirments for it to be able to jump, and it should at least keep the AC20 and some of the ER Large Lases if possible. As they were reworking the XM project, certain parties in the FWLM felt that this mech should be able to pull triple duty, in other words it should be a front line machine, a garrassion mech and a strong point defender. When this was sent down to the engineers, they tackaled it like they would any thing else, they went head first into it. So after 3 and half years, they walked the XM120 Jumbo out of the hanger and on to the testing ranges before an audience of that included the Captian General himself and well over half the FWLM brass. The mech preformed well, with minor bugs and problems showing up, but they were quickly fixed and over all the mech did quite well. Two months later in October of 3058, an order was placed by the FWLM for 1000 units of the mech.
