The current incarnation of the GWGs only creates the field outside the hull of the ship, to prevent annoying problems for the crew. Due to the massive cost of the Mark VI GWG, SA Ltd. can only produce one of these ships every 6 years, with the first being launched in 3061, and the second in 3067.
