( < (Unknown) (Unknown)< (Unknown) (Unknown)<< <<     In the aftermath of the Refusal War, Khan Asa Taney realized that the lack of assault mechs was growing to be a serious weakness on the part of the Ice Hellions. Unable to stand and fight with the heavier mechs of other clans, Khan Taney decided to commission a design that might beat the other Clans at their own game. An assault mech, that still held true to the design principles held dear by the Ice Hellion creed. With that in mind, the Frostreaver omnimech entered production on February 3067. An assault machine, the Frostreaver was designed along similar lines as the formidable Executioner (or Gladiator) omnimech. With a similar movement rate, including MASC and jump jets, the Frostreaver was ten tons lighter than the Executioner, making it hopefully a bit more efficient. The design, more than anything else, resembles a scaled-up Jenner IIC, and the profile is quite similar to that, as well as the Jenner IIIC, a second-line mech used by the Ice Hellions as well. The weaponry even matches to some degree, and the only main difference between the Frostreaver omni and its Jenner IIIC predecessor are the jump jets, and the minor weight difference.  The Frostreaver has only seen battle once, against a Trial of Possession for ATM technology against the Crusader Wolves. The Frostreavers handled themselves admirably, as the Wolves were not expecting to deal with such a mobile assault mech in the Hellion forces.~ The C variant, using some captured ATM racks, uses a pair of ATM-12 launchers, combined with a pair of large pulse lasers. * Currently Frostreavers are being deployed to the front-line clusters of Clan Ice Hellion, often replacing older designs such as the Hellbringer or Mad Cat omnimechs. A current favored unit configuration consists of an anchor of a lone Frostreaver, with 'talons' comprised of lighter, faster mechs with shorter ranged weapons. Thus the Frostreaver can rain firepower down on its foes, while the talons clean up.
