Contest Page
Contests are an active area of the HeavyMetal Forums.
Each new contest will be posted below in the Current Contests listings, and when
winners are determined, they will then be posted in the Winners listings.
Please check back often to see and participating in new contests. I encourage
everyone to participate in both the contests and the HeavyMetal Forums in
general. It is a fun place to meet and discuss topics of interest to most everyone.
Winners of Previous Contests
When winners are selected and posted, a link will be posted here to an HTML
page of the design, as well as a downloadable data file. But second place is
probably well worth downloading too, so be sure to check out all the designs
submitted on the forums, most of which should also be found on the
User Submissions area.
- Can be any BattleTech unit, capable of dealing out at least 4 points of
'Mech-scale damage, and must have at least 20 armor points. The Moray
Hydrofoil is capable of almost
443 km/h (275 mph).
- Must be a BattleMech, capable of dealing out at least 4 points of
'Mech-scale damage, and must have at least 20 armor points. The BattleBee
VTOL is capable of over 410 km/h (255 mph).
- Must be a BattleMech with at least 20 armor
points, capable of producing at least 4 points of 'Mech-scale damage for a
minimum of 5 turns. The Greyhound Va is capable of doing over 572 km/h (over
355 mph).
- Must be a Level 1 or 2 BattleMech. That's
pretty much it. The winner has an astounding 3725 BV!
- Must be a Level 3 BattleMech, but not an LAM
(see contest below for them). Take a look at this one, with a final BV of
6007.
- It's pretty much common knowledge that the best
way to boost Battle Value is to have a Land Air 'Mech, and this one's a
honey! Can you say "8067 Battle Value"?
- Almost 12 millions C-Bills, and it doesn't even have an XL? Yeah, these
Highest Cost designs are often silly. But somebody asked, so we had to
answer the question, right?
- A Level 2 BattleMech that costs over 50 million C-Bills, huh? Yeah, it's
getting even sillier. But someone had to do it, so why not right here at
HeavyMetalPro.com?
- As they say, if you have to ask, you can't afford it. That's certainly
the case with this Level 3 BattleMech with a sticker price of over 300 million C-Bills!
Yep, that Silly, with a capital S, or Silly on a whole new level. But we
knew you'd want to know, so here it is. ;-)
- A new type of contest: after posting all the designs, forum members voted
in a poll to determine the winner! Quite a nice mix of greatly improved
designs, and a jumping Hussar came out on top!
- The second contest where designs are posted, and then forum members vote
to determine the winner! The winner this time is a Dire Wolf variant.
- Even at during the introduction of BattleMechs, before Fusion engines
were used, they were a force to content with. Enter your design here for
